Gabby Escapes!
I just aged 10 years. The damn gate didn't close and she was gone a long time as I chatted away on the phone. Finally, I made the connection; no Gabby and picture in my brain of that open gate. Zoomed into the car, yelling Gabby all the way, meeting lots more people along the way by asking, "Have you seen a black dog?" Getting dark so time limited in seeing a black dog. Ran into the park again, screaming Gabby. Who cares if it's dark. Let me go in that spooky bike path. Out of the park to the school, screaming Gabby, softball teams looking at me weirdly. Calling Gina-yelling help. Roads blocked because of the dumb dam. She drove over by way of Timbuktu I think. Next thought- maybe I should check the house. Maybe in my senile state, she was actually still in the yard and I just assumed she got out. Arrive at house. Yea! Another mother and son team with Gabby on a leash at the front door. They read her tag and brought her home. Gina pulled up right behind me. (Thanks Gina.) And of course the dog was running up and down Twinbrook Parkway! Is she traumatized in any way? No, oblivious.
I wish I could take pictures of people for the blog, like that mother and son to include here. What would I say? Ahh, my dog has a blog. Can I take your picture for it? Gina would let me do it.
