Gabby is my dog. She is a labradoodle that my daughters retrieved from the Last Chance Rescue. She came to me at Christmas undernourished to the point that her hair was falling out and the hair that she did have was in dreads. Happy to say she has made a full recovery. One of her highlights in life is to take two walks everyday and see how many squirrels she can lunge at and how many fellow doggies she can meet.

Every walk we take a little something happens; we meet someone new to us and our world expands by one more person, we meet an old friend and catch up, she makes a new discovery (box turtle) or I see something new (magnolia blossom). Nothing is that exciting, but everything is a little slice of life in our busy suburban neighborhood.
This picture is us checking out the creek that is flooding. Notice that she is not really looking at the creek because she is scanning the woods for squirrels. Much more important. We met a mother and son on this walk who told us it rained 11 inches. Their very official rain guage was a vase!
